TALENTGAL is a five year MSCA COFUND postdoctoral programme, promoted by the CIGUS Network and supported by the Xunta de Galicia, the three Galician Universities (USC, UDC and UVigo), and more than 40 associated partners from different sectors, that blends top tier research with tailored training in transferable skills, shaping highly qualified professionals.
CiQUS TOPICS
This research topic aims to understand and engineer supramolecular interactions that govern biological processes. By integrating molecular, supramolecular, and biomolecular chemistry, this program develops advanced tools to probe, control, and mimic complex biological functions. Key objectives include creating synthetic DNA binders, peptide based supramolecular systems, nanostructured cytoskeleton like scaffolds, highly sensitive fluorescent probes, and biomimetic chiral assemblies, alongside new pharmacological strategies.
This research program aims to understand and manipulate cellular machinery using innovative synthetic probes, catalysts, and nanomolecular systems. By selectively altering biological functions, within the framework of this research topic it will be develop new therapeutic strategies, including artificial enzymes, metallocatalysts for prodrug activation, and inhibitors targeting bacterial metabolism. The ultimate goal is to generate next generation anticancer treatments, novel antibiotics, and real time immune-targeting probes through a multidisciplinary effort integrating chemistry, biology, and nanotechnology.
Research focuses on creating tailored molecular and nanostructured materials for advanced nanoelectronics and sustainable energy technologies. Work includes nanographenes, hybrid nanomaterials, MOFs, thermoelectrics, electroactive COFs, and bioelectronic systems, along with new AI guided hybrid materials, magnetic graphene structures, and improved battery components. The goal is to enable high performance devices and next generation energy solutions through strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
This research line develops smart molecular and nanomaterial systems—including peptides, polymers, nanoparticles, DNA origami, and remotely activatable materials—for targeted biomolecule delivery, advanced imaging, and early disease detection. The team studies nanobiointeractions to optimize safety and performance, and creates signal generating diagnostic tools. Efforts also explore exosome based delivery, MOFs, engineered CAR T interfaces, and AI enhanced sensing technologies.
